Wood turning courses:

Are you interested in woodturning, would you like to participate in an introductory course, or would you like to refresh your skills?

The introductory course (maximum 6 participants per course) is aimed at those who have never done woodturning before. No prior qualifications or training are required, and students from twelve upwards are admitted under the constant supervision of a responsible adult.
Under the guidance of master carpenter Georges Reckinger, you will learn the basic steps for wood processing and turning with the correct procedures. You will learn to use appropriate tools safely, giving you the freedom to be creative. The beginner ends the workday with basic exercises and a self-made piece.

For more experienced turners, we work on specific questions (e.g., hollowing out vases), recognizing wood types, gathering and preserving a wood supply, turning end grain, sharpening tools, etc. You can come to the course with your own concept, allowing us to follow your approach and give you advice. Every participant benefits from the experience of the other participants.

The price for the “Basic” courses is 295 € including 17% VAT per weekend. Tools and wood for the basic exercises are included, but it is also possible to bring your own wood. Wear an apron (wood chips itch!), work clothes, and well-fitting safety shoes.
Bring your own lunch. The course is taught in German and French, and can also be translated into English upon request.
